Travel To Royal Porthcawl

The Royal Porthcawl Golf Club is located in Rest Bay in Porthcawl, Mid Glamogan, Wales and provides for immaculate views of the ocean while you’re putting. What really makes this course unique is its lack of sand hills, providing golfers with an unobstructed view of the ocean for each and every hole!

Having hosted several events and championships, Royal Porthcawl is the place to go in Wales for a golfing experience unlike any other. As with many golf clubs, there is a dress code, but common sense can be your guide. No jeans, collarless shirts or sneakers are accepted.

One notable thing about this course is the wind. The official website—http://www.royalporthcawl.com—suggests that you will need every club in your bag since each hole faces a different direction and presents new wind obstacles.

There are accommodations onsite with room enough for 12 visitors. For a nominal fee, you can stay right on the course, pretty much, making it so you never have to leave the premises during your stay. Plus, there are restaurants, bars and shops all around to keep you occupied for those times you’re not on the course.

Established in its current location in 1895, Royal Porthcawl is a fantastic golf club and course for members and visitors alike. While meant for serious golfers, that does not mean you can’t have fun during your stay. Buy all of the golf gear you could ever want in the Professional’s Shop and take up the scenery right outside your dorm window.

There’s nothing like playing golf with just you and the wind and the sea. While it can be quite a challenge, you’re certain to enjoy the rush of playing on this historic course.
